Serve Our City!

Saturday, Aug. 29, 8:30 am-lunch

Meet in Rooms 103-104

Let's light up Troy with acts of kindness! You will have the opportunity to sign up to serve at specific organizations throughout Troy from 9-11am. Girls may attend as long as each one is accompanied by an adult and are signed up with an organization that states children are able to serve. The adult does not have to be Mom, but written permission will have to be given to send a child with someone else. Each organization will tell us ahead how many people can serve safely with social distancing and what the tasks entail to enable you to have a general idea of the job when signing up. There will be something that meets the needs of all of us. We will meet at the church at 8:30am and meet back at the church at 11:30am. We ask you to pack your lunch to eat when we return. At that time, we will share our experiences and the mission of each organization.

In response to Tara Kolker’s message to TCN in the worship service on March 8, Women’s Life will host a gathering to support Trades of Hope.

All around the world, poverty is the root of many problems. Slavery, slums, sex trade and mothers giving up their children to orphanages because they cannot afford to keep them are heartbreaking realities women face everyday. But there is hope in the story. The mission of Trades of Hope is to use sustainable business and job creation to empower women out of poverty in more than 16 countries around the world. It sells an exclusive line of fashion accessories and home décor that is ethically crafted by women rising out of poverty. They are earning consistent incomes in safe working conditions and getting to thrive in their communities with their families as they look hopefully into the future. Women’s Life invites you to join with other women to help dreams come true. The products are beautiful! Through the Trades of Hope “Gifts of Hope” program, dependent upon sales at our gathering, we have the opportunity to provide women with a solar lamp, an ultrasound, glasses and a Mama’s Kit that can change some women’s lives forever. Mark your calendar, watch for more information, and invite your friends and family to attend with you. It will be a fun, meaningful evening! Please RSVP to tcnwomenslife@gmail.com by Sunday, Oct. 11. Sign-up also will be available at TCN on Sundays or through our Facebook page: TCN Women’s Life.
