Looking for a Church home?

Meet the RollisonsTCN is excited to welcome Jeff and Kim Rollison to our church family! As our new senior pastor, Jeff comes to us from the First Church of the Nazarene in Lima, Ohio, where he has served as head pastor since 1999. Jeff completed his ordination studies through Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 1988, and has been serving throughout Ohio in fulltime pastoral ministry ever since. We are blessed to also have Kim join our staff, employing her giftedness as worship leader and director of prayer ministries. The Rollison’s have two daughters, Stephanie, who lives locally, and Amber, who currently resides with her husband in Chicago.

Q: Describe how you and your spouse approach the pastoral role together.
A: We see our roles as partners in ministry. Through the years, Kim and I have watched as God has developed our unique personalities, gifts and abilities to compliment each other. Though Kim may not have a divine call from the Lord to preach, I do belive she has been called to ministry alongside me. How that plays out in the local ministries she is involved in is determined by the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Q: What do you see as the church’s role in our day and age?
A:
The greatest challenge facing the church of the 21st century is our need to remain relevant in our ever-changing culture with the unchanging message of Jesus Christ. We have been called in Christ to be salt and light, to be proclaimers of truth within a world desperately seeking authenticity. The body of Christ will be the place where we are allowed to follow our questions in pursuit of the truth, learning from each other and sharpening one another as a result. To effectively reach this rapidly changing North American culture, the church may have to retool “traditional” models in areas like relationships. I am finding that more than ever, people are looking for meaningful relationships that can be structured into their life schedule. The church will need to remain creative in meeting this need and rethinking beyond a one day a week mentality.

Q: What gets you excited about ministry?
A:
The preaching ministry remains my strongest gift; it is the highest priority of my calling and the greatest responsibility. There is also a love in working with believers who have a heart for lost people. As senior pastor, I seek to develop a biblical lay ministry that effectively ministers to the body of Christ and to the lost, which also reflects one of my greatest burdens: to reach the lost where they are, and share with them what they can become in Christ.
